Description of the situation: Faith was born on 05/05/2009 and is the only child. She stays with the grandmother after the mother and father went to Nairobi to look for job and they never return back. Faith lives with grandmother with other children who stays with grandmother. Grandmother has a cancer of the rib and often suffers from chest pain which makes her get to hospital regularly. The average monthly income of the family is 3,000 KES. The family of four dependants lives in semi-permanent house. They use firewood for cooking, lamp for lighting and get water from the river. Faith is physically fit and has no health complication. In January 2024, she entered the first year of secondary school. Tuition fee for one month is 1.400 CZK (16.800 CZK/year) or 55EUR (660 EUR/year).

The project of remote support „Adoptions of African children“ mediates an access to education for poor Kenyan children without pulling them out of their natural environment and community. This project has been running since 2002 and has helped more than 3500 children. School fees at primary school are CZK 7200 (€300) / year, and at secondary school, college and orphanage are CZK 16800 (€660). The payment can also be broken down into multiple instalments.
